The ceremony, held at Ashton Court Mansion in Bristol, was a wonderful way to mark the end of three years hard work for photography, games and film degree students.
The grandeur of Ashton Court Mansion provided a photogenic backdrop for graduates and their families and the ceremony kicked off with a warm welcome from Executive Dean, Dr Susan McMillan. She highlighted how far the students had come:
"Today’s graduates represent the future of the Creative Industries. Their talent and dedication has been evident throughout their time with us and we are incredibly proud of what they have achieved in three years. We look forward to seeing the remarkable contributions they will make to the world of film, photography and games."
Guest speaker at the event was Joe Sims, star of BAFTA Award winning ‘Broadchurch’ and BBC Radio’s ‘Mr Bristol’. He was an inspiration to the students who are just setting out on their careers in the Creative Industries.
Graduate, Alex Langley, started with boomsatsuma college when he was 16 and then went on to be one of the first students on the new degree course in 2021, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Filmmaking (Production):
"Graduating with a degree is really important to me and my family. I know I can speak on behalf of the other graduates when I say that boomsatsuma has given us the skills and self belief to take on the world!"
Following the formal ceremony, graduates, staff and guests enjoyed a reception, with music and refreshments, in Ashton Court’s beautiful grounds.
The graduation highlighted boomsatsuma’s role in shaping the next generation of creative professionals. As the graduates embark on their careers, they carry with them the innovative spirit and practical expertise that boomsatsuma instils in all its students.
