Nirmala is a filmmaker, artist and Industry Camera Technician. For the last two years has been supporting teaching on the boomsatsuma Filmmaking Production degree.

Before joining boomsatsuma she was a Technical Consultant at CVP - one of the leading broadcast and professional video solutions providers in the UK and Europe. She demonstrated the latest video and broadcast equipment to customers, managed the kit in the CVP & ARRI Creative Space showroom, planned setups for workshops and organised the logistics of moving equipment between various CVP locations, industry events and roadshows.

Nirmala graduated with a degree in Film. Her award-winning documentary film Regina was screened at a range of film festivals internationally, and Girl - which she produced for Director Lowri Roberts - won the Welsh BAFTA for Best Short Film 2018. Recently she produced the short Nakato for BBC New Creatives which was showcased on BBC Four and iPlayer in 2022.
