Profile

Louise's career began by accident in London working for Paramount British Pictures where she had her first opportunity to work on location. A move to Bristol offered opportunities in documentary at the BBC where she worked on the accident and emergency series '999' before spotting that the teams working in the Natural History Unit spent even more time on location. It was a swift move to the NHU where she became production manager working on many of the Unit's presenter-led series and bluechip films.

Having production managed, produced and directed over 150 hours of documentaries for all the major international broadcasters, her career has taken her all over the world, working in jungles, deserts, behind the scenes in museums and in hostile environments.

Louise has received nominations from the Royal Television Society and Emmy for producing and writing in documentary. She has a Masters degree in Scottish History and a doctorate in Scottish criminal violence of the early 20th century from the University of St Andrews. She lectures at boomsatsuma and UWE, and is the author of a growing list of history titles.
