Profile

"Laura takes strange pictures of women" - Introduction from Partner’s Mother, 2019.

Laura Lamb Mallet (b. 1992, London) is a Bristol based visual artist and aspiring bombshell on the pursuit of pleasure.

Completing her MA in Photography at UWE Bristol in 2020, her work continues to dissect and critique ‘the feminine’ in contemporary culture, and the wider representation of sexuality in popular culture. Through photography she addresses the complicated relationship between desire, narcissism and perception. Laura’s latest work - ‘NEW EROTICA’ (2018-2023) - brings together a series of sickly seductive images that infuse traditional notions of the erotic with her own contemporary versions of it, exploring personal pleasure and challenging societal norms.

Laura is the host of PHOTOSLUT - a refreshingly unique new podcast platform born in 2023. PHOTOSLUT invites guests to discuss visual culture with a focus on contemporary photographic practice. A bridge between entertainment and academia, plugging the gap between conceptual art conversation and a more engaging, less stuffy environment.
